What Type Are You?
It is not that hard to determine blood type – after all, there are only so many types to choose from. But, when you begin looking for a home theater projector, it can be a daunting task – if you let it. But, you don’t have to let it beat you. I cannot stress enough how important it is to read consumer reviews – this allows you to see what actual customers think of the different types of projectors. And, to me, this is one of the most important things to me – people just like me, letting me know if a product actually works as well as the company claims. After all, I am not spending the company’s money but mine. Typing in a few keys in a search engine can show you a lot about the different types of projectors. Is DLP better than LCD? Do I want a portable unit or a stationary unit – and can I find one that can do both? What outside sources can be used with this projector – can I play my games, can I watch DVD’s, can I hook it to my computer? Another thing to consider is what type of accessories do you want to use with your projector. You will need to be sure that the type of projector you have in mind will be compatible with the accessories you wish to buy. For example, if you want to hang your projector from the ceiling for a stationary home theater, you will want to be sure that the projector you choose has the proper hookups to use a ceiling mount. Some types of computer can be used outdoors – some plugged in and some battery-powered. There are projectors that will fit in the palm of your hand –but you have to keep in mind that these types may not be all-inclusive and you may have to purchase a separate DVD player. Learn what features each projector has so that you will not be disappointed once you begin using your projector. Decide exactly how much your budget will allow for your home theater project – remember that accessories and necessary things like cables and mounts need to be included in this budget. There is a type of projector for everyone – even children. So, I would recommend making a list of the features that you need or want and determine a price range. Once you have done this, you can narrow your search down so that it is not so overwhelming. One last thing to keep in mind is that there are many companies who offer home theater projectors. Would you rather pay a little more to go with a company that you know and trust or you rather give one of the startup companies a chance to prove themselves? No matter what your decision, there is a projector type out there for you – and I have found in my research that there is one that fits most any budget. If you can get your needs and budget balanced, you are on your way to having your own home theater!
